Well, Hello May…

I've been so busy over the last few weeks, that May truly took me by surprise. I've been so focused on working away in my little fulfillment center (aka my basement) for the last few weeks to get our Deep Dive Into the Wisdom of Pooh Tarot guidebook preorders out the door that I haven't been able to come up for air. It's been a challenge on me physically, but I have reinforcements coming this week! So I should be able to knock out the rest much quicker.

I have to admit, however, that I welcome the distraction. Right now the U.S. feels like a twisted dystopian nightmare from which I cannot wake. I read a quote the other day that said, "Being an American right now is like screaming for help in some serial killer's soundproofed basement." As a human being with a front row seat to this disaster that description felt terrifyingly accurate. Anyone who has managed to maintain both their sanity and still have their soul in tact at this point should be considered superhuman in my opinion.

To prevent from buckling under the bleakness of it all, I intentionally work to bring my energy and attention back to those things in life that bring me joy. Things like my family, my sweet Beagles, my friends and community, the scent of spring flowers, and the birds singing their little songs from the safety of the trees. I remind myself that while I cannot turn-off this horror movie, I can fight back by not letting these corrupt monsters rob me of my love for the world or my happiness. Just this tiny decision is of itself an act of defiance and rebellion. It sends a message that we refuse to let those with no imagination, no magic, no joy, no love, dictate how to be human. I will not let them darken my heart with their selfishness, cruelty, and greed. I will rebel and love instead because todos pertenecemos aquí…we all belong here.

May we all receive a second, third, and fourth wind…we are going to need it.
